Company violated patents of Alcatel-Lucent, but the amount of compensation is inadequate to the offense committed - recognized and set aside the appeals court decided to impose on Microsoft the payment of compensation.

American company had to pay Alcatel-Lucent's compensation amounting to 358 million dollars. He announced, however, appealed against the verdict.

As the Reuters article in the Microsoft $ 358 million damage award overturned, the appeal court found some of the arguments the group from Redmond and sentence set aside for compensation. The court ruled that Microsoft infringed patents, indirectly, the French company. The amount of damages, the Court held, however, is inadequate to the offense committed. The reason there is insufficient evidence presented by Alcatel-Lucent.

The court annulled the decision to award damages and ordered a retrial in this respect. Kevin Kutz, a spokesman for Microsoft, said he was pleased with the court's decision. Alcatel-Lucent is pleased to re-establish the court to violate its patents.
